IoMech offers a low-friction, low-risk entry point to adopting Lean Manufacturing culture and practices, utilising an implementation model that guarantees the easy, staged expansion of Lean and Industry 4.0 practices and technologies across all aspects of the manufacturer’s production pipeline.
Modern best practices require organisations to conduct regular Risk Management and Continuous Improvement processes for their products and services. These processes, however, require a collaborative culture and transparency across business functions and their adoption is often blocked by cultural, educational and economic barriers, in particular with Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
IoMech’s approach to consultation and training was developed in collaboration with academics from Imperial College London and involves a novel product/ process mapping method that replaces jargon with images and simple descriptions of process or product functions. Repeated case studies in SMEs found our approach to significantly improve cross-functional collaboration, enabling employees of all levels to contribute to product/ process improvement processes (e.g., FMEA) and share their knowledge with colleagues.
